Cultivating emergence and belonging in the spaces where we work, live and lead.
Loam is a social change organization that creates space for leaders and leaderful teams to practice relational change through education, coaching, design and facilitation.
The word “loam” means “nutrient-rich soil.” To us, soil represents the interior spaces we occupy that shape what we grow on the surface.
Whether that space is within ourselves, within our relationships, within our organizations or communities, relational change is a framework that looks to Earth’s wisdom as a guide for cultivating soils rich with interdependence, belonging, resilience, and emergence.
Let us grow from here!
From hyper-local to multi-country, Loam supports clients and collaborators to co-create more just and joyful futures
We firmly believe that changemaking is a sacred act that can feel deeply human. We don’t have to choose between joy and impact, authenticity and belonging. Loam offers a generative approach to education, coaching, design and facilitation that honors our individual and collective wholeness, creativity and wellbeing.
We won’t lie to you. Our approach requires attention, spaciousness, and commitment over time. We’re not going to sell you on quick, superficial outcomes or approaches that won’t impact you in the long run. We will help you see transformative change occurring in deep, sustainable ways over time.
We won’t try to fix you. We know that you are brilliant, and that you already have all the answers you need. We approach our work as partnered learners, guiding you through creative processes to harness your own wisdom and generate sustainable solutions that stick.
We won’t leave you floating. Our approach lives firmly in the land of praxis, where theory meets practice. Yes, we will play with big ideas and dreams, but we will always stay connected to practical, principled action.
Our People
radicals & revolutionaries
bridge builders & weavers
space holders & healers
We might be your people if…
You’ve been looking for the folks who are dreaming about and doing things differently
You understand conflict, even when messy, can lead to deeper connection when tended to with care
You embrace the need to move beyond intellect and invite intuition into your way of knowing and decision making
You prioritize people and are often found working “at the heart” of it all
You learn best when integrating body, mind and spirit
You want a brave space to deepen your anti-oppression and liberation practices with fellow changemakers
You’re proud that your way of moving through the world challenges the status quo
You are aware that making systems change is a marathon, not a sprint
You understand leadership is an action, not a position
You’ve been called an “outside the box” thinker more than once in your life
You know in your bones that “radical” is sometimes subtle
In your world, play and rest are just as important as work
You feel called to slow down in a fast-paced world
